BRENNEN OUTRAGEOUS LETTERS

.............................................................................
ANSWER TO THE LETTER:

The Brennen Law Firm
67 E. Live Oak Ave. Arcadia, Ca. 91006

Attention: Michael E. Brennen

Reference: Your letter dated March 14, which I received after I filed a complaint with LAHF. And 3 day notice which I received once work required by inspector Kaufman was completed.

Your letter, three pages of dehumanization, intimidation, harassment, And threats should contain some semblance of truth. Which I will now address.

The following are the facts:

My one and only complaint to the LAHF was for the microwave, broken months ago, my many  pleas to replace it went ignored. You stated in your letter that I invented the ventilation problem: Fact is. When I spoke with the agent, She asked me if  the microwave is countertop or oven top, I said it is oven top. She rightly concluded if the microwave is broken, Then I also have no ventilation.  As soon as I received manager’s notice stating that “you did not tell us it is ventilation you need, had you told us that we would come fix it immediately. ” I personally went to the manger and told him that is a mistake. That all I asked for is for the microwave to be finally installed.  Then a notice was put on my door, saying that they will come to install the microwave 8 am.  I immediately, called and left several messages for the manager who never picked up the phone, nor returned my call. The previous night I texted him and told him they are welcome to come anytime in the afternoon the next day. Please do tell me how did I fabricate a text? A copy of which I enclosed in my registered letter to your client. I still have that text on my iphone. I simply took a snapshot of the text and printed it.  The next day beginning at 11 am and all day long I constantly left messages for the manager that I am waiting for the repair personnel to come and install the microwave.  As you know, all records of those calls I made are on file at the phone company.

Microwave & Ventilation System
While I did not personally check the ventilation system beneath the microwave nor saw any one do that, I was present while they looked at the microwave and left, it would be a surprise to me if the ventilation system of a shut microwave worked.  I talked to inspector Kaufman, very distraught, and he looked at the order and explained to me that it was the clerk who marked the ventilation system box.

Unsealed counter-tops
Sixteen years ago, When we moved in, my mother showed the burnt areas on the counter-tops to Mr.Wolf. And asked that new counter tops be installed explaining the problem with sanitation.  Mr. Wolf refused.  Your client has been in violation of LAHD sanitation codes for the past 16 years.

Damp Walls

Sir, your fabrications are outright ridiculous, and you are not even careful with them.  It seems that you shamelessly make up bigger and more fabrications as you go along.  Immediately prior to Monday morning when your client and her men came to fix the plaster, we had days of constant heavy rain.  You can easily check the area’s weather condition and I insist that you must. There was three days of storms and still on Monday morning when the manager, Roger Hilmer, kept touching the wall around the AC unit, it was dry, the wall was dry when your  independent contractor, checked the wall.  I insist that you ask Roger Hilmer as he was very thorough touching the wall all around the unit where the plaster had been damaged. He also told the repair man, Jose, that the wall was all dry. And to both men. IT WAS ALL DRY. For your information I had not watered the plants for the entire week since there was no need due to the intense, heavy rains.  You may interview the contractor because that is exactly what I told him.

There was never any water seepage from outside. There were no cracks in the wall.  The damage happens during summer months when the air conditioner is on.  The air conditioner is as old as the building, and has a condensation problem. And as you know wet walls causes dangerous mold. When Inspector Kaufman found the damaged walls, I told him never mind that.  At no point did I mention rain to Inspector Kaufman. I said only three words, never mind that, and he said no he will report it.  However, when I received your letter, I did call inspector Kaufman.  He told me that I am allowed to water the plants on my balcony as much as I wish, that the balcony by law must have drainage and it does. The culprit is the Air conditioner.  He also said that the problem is a constructional problem.  And now the repairman has sealed  around the AC, SO YOUR POINT IF YOU HAD ANY IS COMPLETELY MUTE.  However, I assure you when it gets hot and I turn on the AC once again the plaster will be damaged. I told Rosalie this and asked that the unit be replaced. She declined. And as I am sure you know, wet walls harbor mold.

As for your other fiction and exaggerations, I don’t water my plants daily, if they are lucky I water biweekly. No pot ever fell from the balcony.  The only thing that fell was a very small amount of dirt in a paper container from my hand when I lost my balance as I was planting some cilantro seeds.  This happened close to 11 at night, and had I not been a good conscientiousness tenant, who went
immediately to gather the dirt, And asked the lady that I saw by her glass door to turn on the light so that I could gather the dirt, No one would have ever known.  I never water the plants any earlier than midnight ever, with one exception when it was very hot and they had dried up and I had to make an exception.  I assure
you I have not and never will water plants before midnight.

There is a history of Management ignoring my pleas to correct or fix problems.
Once I asked Management for over a month to check into the leakage from the ceiling into my living room. Finally the entire ceiling and a flood of water came down on my dining area and my table and chairs. I was drenched with water and lucky I moved before the rest of the ceiling came down. Even after I told her this had happened, she still ignored me.And only had one word to me..MOVE!!! I had no choice but to call LAHD. Only after she received the inspector’s letter did she fix the ceiling. Despite the danger to me. I have kept all the pictures that I took of this unnecessary event.
