The Judge from H**L! He should watch Judge Judy, she is far more fair than this awful excuse for a judge. All of the "hearsay" he allowed, as long as the "stories" came from the Landlord's witnesses. This is not a Judge worthy of any appointment. His demeanor was highly unprofessional according to some of his remarks and I was surprised he allowed so much hearsay and innuendo testimony. I felt for the defendant in this case - a case where the defendants witnesses were credible and the litigant's (a landlord) contradicted each other. This judge was impatient, rushed the case so he could depart for the day & most importantly, made a ruling that will never hold up on appeal. He deserves a thorough investigation and case review from the D.A. Leslie E. Brown is blatantly unqualified to preside as a Superior Court Judge. In all of my case observations of many Judges in recent years - this man showed such complete bias, it leads me to believe his is dirty. He is a disgrace to the Judicial system - particularly at Beverly Hills Superior Court. Absolutely Shameful. This is a dishonest Judge, clearly, and showed complete disregard and/or lack of understand for the applicable rule of law. On almost every occasion this Judge has sided with Plaintiff/Landlord -seeming to consider only the strength of attorney's arguments & skills, rather than common sense and the applicable laws -particularly where rent stabilization is concerned. I have witnessed several tenants w/attorney's who I was certain the Judge would rule against the Landlord & uphold the Tenant's rights to remain in their property- only to hear him say "I'm sorry, you lost" and then award the Plaintiff's 100% of the requested Attorney Fees and costs. There is such a thing as aggressive landlords willing to go to any length and present truly Fraudulent evidence, only to have Judge Brown rule in their favor. Where is this Judges logic and compassion? He seems to be willing to evict tenants without much feeling at all. In a city where it is often the Landlord who loses - Plaintiff/Landlord Attorney's hope they are assigned to Judge Brown - as they almost 100% of the time - prevail. The Supervising Judge needs to sit in Judge Brown's landlord /tenant Friday Court Sessions --The law says "Innocent until proven Guilty" -- It appears Judge Brown's belief is - if the Landlord does not want a tenant on their property, then why should he allow them to remain. This judge ruled against me, saying the other party, a physician, had more credibility. I had presented evidence that this doctor is a pathological liar. I had evidence that the doctor posted things on the internet about me that were obviously false, and the doctor gave testimony in this trial that I proved was a lie. The doctor presented no such testimony about me, yet the judge said he was more credible. I think this judge like many other people has a bias towards doctors, being overly impressed with their credentials. The truth is that doctors are the biggest liars of any profession I have ever seen, including lawyers & used car salesman. And it is a fact that there are more physicians that have been convicted murderers, including mass murder, than any other profession. A high percentage of them are sociopaths. What a disgrace. Perhaps the most bigoted judge I have seen. The Chief Justice should also be held accountable during the next election as well. Brown should be forced to retire, or move to a valley courtroom. No respect whatsoever for people living under rent control.
If you want justice and you are a tenant - avoid Brown at all costs. There is more perjury tolerated in this courtroom by landlords then I have seen in any other. Disgusted. Justice in Brown's "courtroom" does not exist. He has no integrity. If you cannot avoid him - insist on a jury at all costs.

Tempermental, short-fused and lacking judicial character, this is a judge to be avoided at all costs. Not paticularly smart, seemingly comfortable with litigants, he turns in a second to berate and use his black robe to verbally assault those before him whom he knows to be unable to tell him to go to hell. A petty tyrant is the best one can say about him.

It's painful to see this impersonator of a judge as he tosses away the rights of all the tenants who comes before him. DO NOT and I mean do not go before this judge if you are a tenant. He is in the tank for the Landlord every time. Someone should go thru his record and remove him.

A person would be better served in a third world country than be in this Judge's courtroom. Most especially if you are a tenant. He does not know law. He is ego driven. He will rule EVERY TIME for the Landlord. Do not go before this Judge without a jury.

I sat in this courtroom is disbelief. If you are a Tenant going into this courtroom, 1) be sure you have an Attorney that works exclusively in Tenant rights and 2) try to change venue to another courtroom & most importantly as others have mentioned, you must insist on a Jury.

His court needs to be investigated by the DA - seriously. I have completely lost my faith in our Justice System. Judge Stone: Shame on you for letting this man supervise anything above traffic court.
